People of Al-Qaeda number two killed
Washington (ANTARA News / Xinhua-OANA) - The number two Al-Qaeda in Pakistan, Atiyah Abd ar-Rahman, was killed, a U.S. official said on Saturday (27 / 8).
According to officials who did not want to be named, the ar-Rahman was killed in Waziristan on August 22, the same day when U.S. drone attack in Pakistan territory sukud.
Citizen Libya is emerging as the number two Al-Qaeda, after the network's leader, Osama bin Laden, was killed by U.S. elite forces during the attack on his residence in Pakistan in May.
U.S. Defence Secretary says Leon Panetta in July death of Osama bin Laden does not mean al-Qaeda has lost, and it is important for the U.S. to continue to pressure the group to ensure national security.
