Libyan guerrillas fought restore public services

Tripoli (ANTARA News / AFP) - Militants Libya on Saturday said they are working hard to restore basic services in Tripoli, five days after they occupied the headquarters Muamar Gaddafi in the capital.
"We have 30,000 tons of fuel to be distributed to the public starting today," said a spokesman for the National Transition Council (NTC), Mahmud Shammam.
He added that the guerrillas will also provide gas for cooking dalama 48 hours and work to restore the shrine refining facilities.
The statement came after the NTC's first press conference since announcing that they moved his base of Benghazi, in eastern Libya, to the capital city.
"Tripoli is under strict control of the dictatorship for 42 years. We started from ground zero in this situation. Do not ask for miracles but we promise to try to make this difficult time as short as possible," said Shammam.
He called on all oil and private sector workers to return to work helped restore public services in the capital.
Tripoli facing a shortage of electricity supply, water and fuel that has disrupted the lives of every day and hit the health sector.
Osama al-Abed, deputy chairman of the newly formed board of Tripoli, said the embargo imposed on Gaddafi's regime has also disrupt power plants, which operate using the fuel. In turn, the supply of water will be disrupted, he added.

Airport Master
The guerrillas also said they have mastered the Tripoli airport on Saturday and had cleared a district controlled by forces loyal to Gaddafi, but still worried about snipers at the airport.
