Troops surrounded a pro-Gaddafi Zuwarah

Zintan, Libya (AFP) - Troops loyal to the Libyan leader Gaddafi Muamar besieging the rebel-held towns, Zuwarah, west of Tripoli, said several rebel commanders on Wednesday (24 / 8).

Salem, coordinator for the region Zintan military movements, said the rebels had taken control of the central part of Zuwarah - who three days ago has changed hands since the insurgency erupted in mid-February.
Since then, pro-Gaddafi troops stationed throughout the town has been bombarded, he said.
Zuwarah are on the road from the capital city of Libya, Tripoli, Ras Jdir towards the border with Tunisia, which is also in the hands of troops loyal to Gaddafi.
